All children deserve to lead full, joyful lives and to have caring people supporting them as they grow. Mentor Foster Care, a part of the Sevita family, gives children more than just a safe home. We help children who have had a difficult start in life overcome the challenges they face.

We provide foster care services to help children with trauma, autism, behavioral health needs and other challenges. In our programs, children live with loving foster parents who support them.

Trusted foster care provider since 1980

Mentor Foster Care has provided foster care services since 1980. Our belief then was the same as it is now, that children belong in families, where they can get the love and support they need to thrive. We began providing services in Massachusetts for young people in the court system who would otherwise have been placed in correctional institutions. Over the decades, we have grown our foster care services into other states to serve children with a wide range of needs.

We’re experts in trauma-informed care

We offer a unique trauma-informed model of foster care that focuses on the healing effects that loving family relationships can have on a child who has experienced trauma. With the support of master’s level therapists, clinical coordinators, and other caring staff, foster parents help youth with a wide range of challenges. We’ve got the expertise and resources of a national organization with a long history of helping children with a wide range of needs. And in our local programs, we’ve got caring people to support foster parents and the children they serve every step of the way.

Services in our programs are tailored to each child’s needs and may include:

  • Trauma-focused counseling services
  • Family and community activities
  • Case management
  • Life skill building
  • Skill development and support for foster parents
