From the very beginning, we were determined to do everything we could to give Lizzy the best possible outcome.
She began physical therapy at just a few months old. At times, progress felt slow, and it was difficult watching her peers reach milestones more quickly. But we held onto hope and kept moving forward.
At 20 months old, we were introduced to Alishia Daily and her use of NISE-Stim therapy—and everything began to change.
At first, Lizzy was unsure about the electrodes. But after just a few sessions, her hesitation turned into excitement. She began to associate the therapy with something powerful: independence.
With NISE-Stim, Lizzy gained strength in standing, and within just one month, she took her first independent steps without her walker. Watching that moment was nothing short of incredible.
Over the past four months, her progress has been breathtaking. She continues to build on her success—taking more steps, showing off her new skills at home, and growing stronger every day. She is now bending down to pick up toys, stepping over objects, and transitioning from the floor to standing with increasing confidence.
We are also hopeful that this therapy may positively impact her bladder and bowel function.
Our only regret is not starting sooner.
Physical therapy requires time and commitment, but seeing Lizzy’s joy and confidence grow has made every moment worth it.
By sharing her story, we hope to inspire other parents, physicians, and therapists to explore the benefits of NISE-Stim—because for Lizzy, it has truly been life-changing.
