Founded in 1987, REM Ohio supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other complex needs build the skills they need to live well. Our caring team gets to know each person we serve to learn what’s important to them and creates a plan of support just for them. Our Services
Our team supports adults with up to 24/7 care to help them live independently in their own homes. Depending on each individual’s needs, services may include:
- Daily living supports
- Cooking and housekeeping
- Personal care
- Independent living skill building
- Transportation
We offer scheduled supports in a person’s home or community as needed to help them live more independently. Services are tailored to each person’s needs and may include support with daily living, personal care, and being active in the community.
Also known as host homes, our Ohio Shared Living program places adults with dedicated host home providers. Adults live in their provider’s home and become part of the family. With their host home provider’s support, they build new skills, find new hobbies, and participate in community life.
REM Ohio offers group home services to help individuals with a wide range of needs grow and be an active part of their community. Adults in our homes can make friends and be an active part of community life while building skills to reach their goals and live well.
- Waiver Group Homes (WGH)
Our group homes provide up to 24/7 supervision as well as personal care support, skill development, and more. - Licensed Waiver Group Homes (LWGH)
Our state-licensed group homes provide 24/7 supervision as well as daily living supports, skill development, and other services to help individuals thrive.
Also known as group homes, our ICFs offer 24/7 care with medical, behavioral, and daily living (ADL) supports. Our caring staff provide support including:
- Support with daily living
- Social skill development
- Independent living skill development
- Medication management
- Coordination of medical services
REM Ohio’s day programs offer fun social and skill-building activities at our centers. Adults in our programs can make friends and build social and independent living skills that help them reach their personal goals. Activities may include:
- Cooking classes
- Crafts
- Exercise
- Music therapy
- Volunteer projects
- Community outings
In addition to our day programs, we offer non-traditional evening and weekend community-based activities to help adults be active in their community and build independent living skills.
For adults with barriers to employment such as disabilities and medical challenges, our team provides career supports to help them reach their goals. Services can include:
- Support finding work that matches an individual’s interests
- Support applying for jobs
- Job training
- Job placement
