On May 17, 2021, Sevita welcomed individuals, families and employees from South Bay Community Services and team members from its parent company Community Intervention Services. With this addition, Sevita expands its early childhood, mental health, and other services in Massachusetts and begins providing services in Connecticut.

“South Bay’s dedicated team and mission to provide tailored services to the individuals they serve, regardless of individual challenges or circumstances, has garnered them a strong reputation across Massachusetts and Connecticut,” said Brett Cohen, Chief Operating Officer of Sevita. “We look forward to continuing to provide the people and families of New England access to the high-quality, innovative services both Sevita and South Bay are known for.”

Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Brockton, Massachusetts, South Bay is a community-based, behavioral health care organization. South Bay offers a range of services tailored to each person’s unique needs. It specializes in adult behavioral health, children’s behavioral health, autism services, and early childhood services. South Bay serves more than 13,000 individuals and families in 23 locations across Massachusetts and Connecticut.

“We have demonstrated that behavioral health care works best when it is delivered in familiar surroundings built on strong connections and personal relationships,” said Sara Hart, former President and Chief Operating Officer of South Bay Community Services, and now Vice President of Operations at Sevita. “I am confident that the acquisition of South Bay by Sevita will enable us to further evolve our programs to meet the changing needs of local and state agencies, schools, hospitals, underserved families, children, and at-risk adults in the communities we serve.”
