Our Services

Northway Academy provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to support children with autism, developmental delays, and other challenges in day programs across Minnesota. Our team of licensed behavioral health clinicians is passionate about helping children build the skills they need to get the best start in life.

Supports tailored to each child’s needs

We meet children where they are. Our therapists get to know each child and their unique needs and goals, and what living well means for them and their family. We create a plan of service just for them, with supports tailored to their needs and goals. Services include:

  • Assessment of behaviors keeping a child from thriving at home, school and in the community
  • Assessment of basic language and learning skills (ABLLS-R)
  • Skill development and training in communication, daily living, play, and social skills

Early Childhood ABA Program

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based practice that has been used for more than 40 years to understand behavior and help people make positive changes to improve their quality of life. Therapists work with children to improve skills such as:

  • Communication
  • Social skills
  • Motor skills
  • Learning
  • Self care

CMDE/Diagnostic Assessments

The first step in determining eligibility for ABA therapy is a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation (CMDE). Our providers complete this evaluation to determine the service delivery schedule that is deemed medically necessary. The results of this evaluation can be taken to any ABA provider to begin services.

All children receiving ABA services must have received an autism (ASD) or behavioral diagnosis to begin services. Our providers can complete an ADOS-2 evaluation to determine an ASD diagnosis if your child has not yet completed ASD testing. Please contact our team at [email protected] to schedule a CMDE or diagnostic assessment.

Trained ABA Therapists

ABA therapists assess each child’s strengths and areas for growth so we can understand why certain behaviors happen and what supports can help. ABA can lead to growth in many areas of life, helping children to make friends, develop daily living skills, and thrive in school.

The Northway Academy team is here to support each child and their family, whatever challenges they face.  We’re here each step of the way as children make progress and as their needs change to help ensure they get the support they need to thrive.
