The most common mental health challenges among children and youth are depression, anxiety, and behavioral health disorders.1 Children can have a wide range of other challenges, including trauma and PTSD.
Many young people don’t get the behavioral health treatment they need. In 2018-2019, only half of children 3 to 17 who had a behavioral health need got the treatment they needed.2 It’s important to make sure youth get the mental and behavioral health supports they need to support positive development and help them have bright futures.
